How to achieve Korean Gradient Lips

I’m really hooked watching Korean drama’s lately and in my opinion, 2016 has the best line up hehe. Anyway, one of the things that caught my eye aside from their skin, was their lips. A perfect example for this is Kim Bok Joo played by Lee Sung Kyung. *spoiler alert* There was an episode that her Dad gave her a Laneige Two Tone Tint Lip Bar, right? In real life, Lee Sung Kyung was the one who designed it, making it easy to achieve Korean gradient lips. I’m not only going to share about Laneige, there are also other ways to achieve this look.

Before, I don’t have Laneige Two Tone Tint Lip Bar because I don’t know where to get it aside from online shops that are accepting pre-order so I made a little experiment of what I have.

From left to right: Loreal Everlasting Plum, The Face shop Ink lipquid PK07, The Saem Tip Concealer

While most tutorials recommend to apply the concealer first, I did the opposite. Why? When I did the full concealer my lips felt dry so first I put on The Faceshop’s Lipquid PK07 then I applied the right amount of The Saem’s Tip Concealer to the outer corners of my lip and gently pat it.

To have a darker shade on the inner part of my lip, I applied Loreal’s Everlasting Plum then carefully blended it to the middle part of my lip. Careful not to go all the way or your lips will look fully colored instead of getting gradient lips. This was my mistake before lol.

Sometimes, I add a bit of lip balm in the middle part of my lip but only when I feel it needs a little moisture. Lip gloss works too.

Just a friendly reminder if you would like to try this method, it might differ if you have a different skin tone. Always choose a concealer that matches with your skin tone so that you can achieve the gradient effect.

As for the colors of the lipstick that you presently have, don’t be afraid to experiment. Getting unexpected results is exciting!

Here I am wearing Laneige’s Two Tone Tint Lip Bar No.6 Tomato Sherbet. It looks more reddish in real life to be honest. This is the most expensive lip cosmetic that I bought so far lol but it really won’t disappoint you.

That’s all for today. Thanks for reading!
