Hello! Like I mentioned in my previous post, I discovered a good combination for a lip routine and I would be happy to share this with you. Living in a tropical country like the Philippines not only makes our skin dry but also our lips can be affected too. Don’t you find it annoying when you put a matte lipstick and then the chap on your lips becomes more visible?
There is a saying we need to drink 8 to 12 glasses of water everyday but to be honest, I often fail at this. It is rare for me to reach 12 glasses in a day because I feel like I’m going to throw up if I push myself more which is why my lips are often chappy. I’m sure you have also experienced this too. I have a unconcious habit of biting my lip and also guilty of pulling the dead skin of my lips which will bleed after -sobs- that is a big no-no.
I was happy to discover last February that there is a product for our lips which is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.
A lip sleeping mask that provides smooth firm lips by gently melting away dead skin on the lips overnight.
I got the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (3g) for free because I bought Laneige’s Two Tone Tint Lip Bar (Lee Sung Kyung – Kim Bok Joo HYPE!) from a local distributor. You can visit their kiosk in Robinson’s Galleria. The sales lady told me the 3g will last more than a month and she was right. I’ve been using mine for 2 months now.
Upon first use, it didn’t magically work overnight but for a few days of continuously using it, the dead skin of my lips were easy to remove and every time I woke up, my lips felt moisturized.
The second product that I discovered was Ellana’s Strawberry Vanilla Lip Scrub at Project Vanity’s 9th Anniversary. It was a buy-one-take-one for Php 199. I checked their website and it originally cost Php 299. Lucky me!
Rub a small amount to lips and wipe off with a tissue. Use before applying or removing matte lippies.
I tried the instructions but it felt weird for me lol. So I had a little experiment before I went to sleep.
I took a small amount of Ellana’s lip scrub and rub it gently in my lips for 5 minutes then I rinse it with water. It feels smooth after I rinsed it. After that, I sealed it with Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask. This has been my lip routine every night and I’m happy with the result. Not only it moisturizes but it also lessened the chappiness of my lips and I don’t become cautious of my lips when I use a matte lipstick the next day.
This was supposed to be scheduled for tomorrow’s post but my mouse suddenly got wonky and accidentally clicked publish -facepalm- So sorry about that! Anyway, I hope you find this post helpful. If you have a lip routine, feel free to share it with me as well 🙂
Have a good Friday and thank you for reading!
